More Period Goodies

My earlier post (read it here) showed period hardware that was found at a unique shop I was taken to a few weeks back. If you are wondering about the cost of the William & Mary drawer pull that was in the photo, it is Enough pulls for a six-drawer chest can easily be found at this shop. Anyone have a spare ?

Although I don’t want to reveal the exact address of the shop, it will be revealed tomorrow, I will tell you that I was teaching at Acanthus workshops in Pennsylvania.

Chuck Bender, the force behind Acanthus Magazine and the author of the magazine, takes classes on field trips. Ours took us to West Chester, PA. I didn’t want to make you believe that hardware is all there is, so I wanted to share other items of interest.

Above is a photo of several period shutters. This is just one of many shutters that can be found on the site. You can find fixed-louver designs and both raised-panel and flat panel shutters, all taken from period houses before demolition.

Check back tomorrow and Ill give you the name of the shop and a couple more interesting stories guaranteed to make you smile.
