Laguna Tools in Irvine, Calif., has been in business for more than 27 years. With its complete line of woodworking tools, the company is most well-known for its high-quality bandsaws and DriftMaster fence system. Although I have known of the company for many decades, I never had the chance to see the machines in person. Most of us had only been able to see Laguna’s bandsaws in action at the National woodworking show in Atlanta and Las Vegas. If you are on the Left coast, it is unlikely that we have ever had an opportunity to do so. But times are changing for Laguna.
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, which is a well-known national retailer, announced an agreement to Laguna to become the first U.S. distributor of Laguna brand power tools for woodworkers and DIYers through online and retail channels across the country. Ann Rockler Jackson, Rockler CEO, stated that Laguna’s power tools are of the highest quality and she is thrilled to be able to provide them to woodworkers.
Laguna products will be available in Rockler stores starting January 2011 and Rockler.com beginning January 2011. Although the complete Laguna Tool line isn’t yet available, Rockler has begun the relationship with Lagunas stars players. The stores will stock 36 cm, 41cm and 46 cm bandsaws, a 2-horespower cyclone dust collector, a 3-hp cyclone dust collector, a hybrid cabinet saw and a 3-hp top cabinet saw.
